Equipment & Uniform Policy

The uniform and apparel policy is forthcoming and will outline what players will be required to wear for off-ice training, practices, game day attire, and games.

Helmets: The Chicago Hawks/Darien Phantoms require red helmets for players on all teams (excluding In-House, Silver Mites, and goalies). Helmet stickers and numbers are provided by the Club

Players who do not have the required red helmet by 10/01/2026 will not be allowed to play in league and/or tournament games.  

Gloves: No specific colors are required.

Jerseys: Players have the option of reusing their current jerseys OR purchasing a new set.   

Single Hawks Player Jerseys are $145.80, Set of Hawks Player Jerseys are $280.80

Single Hawks Goalie Jerseys are $153.36, Set of Hawks Goalie Jerseys are $306.72

Single Phantoms Jerseys are $75.60, Set of Phantoms Jerseys are $140.40

Refunds will only be provided for jersey purchases of players who have not been OFFERED a roster spot within the Chicago Hawks Hockey Club and any of its affiliate programs including, but not limited to, the Girls and Phantoms programs.

All jersey number conflicts will continue to be resolved in favor of the longest-tenured player with the most consecutive years in the Club. In the event two or more players with the same number are placed on the same team, the player(s) with less longevity will be required to change their number. Depending on the numbered jerseys the Club has in stock, a player may incur the cost of an additional set of jerseys.

All new players to the Club, including first-year mites, will be assigned a number based on availability and numbers already in use. Uniform numbers will be assigned based on the previous years numbers, new players will be assigned a number at the discretion of the Equipment Manager.

Game Socks are provided as part of the uniform package included in registration costs. Additional socks may be purchased at the concession stand, equipment room, or through our on-line store.

Shells are provided as part of the uniform package included in registration costs. Additional socks may be purchased through the equipment room or our on-line store

Rink Suits are part of the uniform package and are new for the 2026-27 Season. They include a pair of pants and a coat. Rink suits are provided to Phantoms (Mites), Squirts, Pee-Wee’s, and the non-National Bound Girls programs.

Bantams, Midgets, and GIrls National Bound Teams will be receiving a package from Yak Sports that includes a hoodie, a long sleeve t-shirt, and a pair of shorts in lieu of the track suits. At their first practice, they will head to the equipment room to receive their package, personalized with a players only logo and their game number.

Any uniform questions prior to being placed on a team can be directed to the equipment manager, Nick Skweres, at equipmentmanager@chicagohawks.com. After you are placed on a team you will refer all questions to your team manager.
